Photography FAQ

With over 10 years of experience in the wedding industry, we have had the pleasure of collaborating with numerous photographers. Our team comprises four exceptional artists who have been carefully chosen to work with Feature Weddings. You can find detailed information about them on our team page. While Nayzel is typically our primary photographer, we also have a dedicated team of professionals who can step in when he is unavailable. Rest assured, your special day will be captured by talented individuals who are committed to delivering outstanding results.

We extend a warm invitation to you to visit our Papatoetoe studio for NZ Weddings and personally meet our team at Feature Weddings. This is an excellent opportunity to explore the intricacies of your wedding day in greater depth. However, kindly note that due to the high volume of inquiries we receive, consultations with our photographers are exclusively reserved for clients who have already booked with us. Once you have secured our services, we will be delighted to arrange a meeting either at our Papatoetoe or Chadstone Melbourne studio, or even conduct a Zoom meeting from anywhere convenient for you. This ensures that every aspect of your special day is thoughtfully addressed and tailored to your desires.

Unfortunately, as a general policy, we do not provide RAW files to our clients. While this may be a standard practice in the photography industry, I would like to explain the reasoning behind it so that you understand our perspective. Firstly, viewing RAW files requires specialized software like Photoshop or Lightroom, which are typically expensive and owned by professional photographers. As a result, the majority of our clients do not have the means to access or work with these files. Moreover, a significant portion of the RAW files consist of outtakes—images with issues like blinking, being out of focus, or poor lighting— and do not resemble the final edited result. Consequently, even for those who can access the RAW files, they often find them underwhelming compared to the beautifully processed images that we meticulously create. Our team devotes considerable care and expertise to post-processing the images, infusing them with love and enchantment to ensure they represent your special day in the best possible way.

Absolutely! We are thrilled to travel far and wide to capture weddings. While our home bases are located in Auckland, New Zealand, as well as Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Fiji, Los Angeles, and Portugal, we are not limited to these locations. We are more than willing to embark on a global adventure to be a part of your special day, no matter where it takes place. If you're planning a destination wedding, please get in touch with us, and we will be delighted to provide you with a personalized quote tailored to your unique requirements.

To ensure our utmost dedication and personalized attention to each wedding, we limit the number of weddings we take on per year. Our calendar fills up quickly, often up to 2 years in advance. Therefore, we recommend getting in touch with us as soon as you have secured your venue and date. By contacting us early, you can check our availability and reserve your spot in our schedule. We understand that planning a wedding involves many decisions, and we want to ensure that we can be there to capture your special day and create lasting memories for you.

Not always. We actually don’t feel the need to do this. We’re confident that we have the skill and equipment to shoot a wedding anywhere. Otherwise, we wouldn’t take on that responsibility. It will also only tell me what the venue is like the exact day I visit. Light intensity and direction will change, where there is gorgeous natural shade on one day, maybe in the sun on the actual wedding or there may not be accessible to a particular spot due to a maintenance issue. Also, some of the wedding bookings I take are several hours away from our home base, and quite honestly, it would be impractical, inconvenient and costly to visit for a quick look around every single one.

To secure your chosen wedding date and ensure the availability of our dedicated photographer, we kindly request a Booking Fee of 50%. This fee serves as a confirmation of your reservation. The remaining balance of the total cost is required to be paid in full 7 days prior to your wedding day. We believe that this payment structure allows for proper planning and preparation, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for you. Rest assured that we prioritize transparent and efficient payment processes to provide you with peace of mind as you approach your special day.

Yes, please! Weddings are very long days for us photographers. If we were to leave your wedding in search of food, we could be gone for up to an hour and might miss something. A fed photographer is a happy photographer 😉

We don’t have a fixed number, but as a guide, we state how many images will be provided as an approximate. This all varies on a combination of things, number of locations, amount of guests, length of coverage, lighting etc.

Yes, most definitely. Some venues may ask you to see the suppliers certificates so just let us know, and we can arrange for them to see my coverage.
When selecting a wedding photography package, consider factors such as the number of hours of coverage, the number of photographers included, the delivery method of the final photos, and any additional services or add-ons offered.
