2024 Wedding Trends

Want to know what’s hot and what’s not!? Here are our predicted wedding trends for 2024.

Separate ceremony and reception

Consider getting married one day and having your reception the next. You can have a more intimate ceremony with your partner and a few loved ones, then make your reception a big party later that day, or the next day.

This is great for couples that think they may feel anxious during their ceremony and means you can have even more fun with your party and play with the theme, dress code, menu, food, drink and decorations.

Several outfits

Brides are choosing to have two or more wedding dresses to showcase their unique style and personality. This also works well if the ceremony and reception are held on different days. This goes for the groom too. Both brides and grooms are celebrating their personalities through a few diverse looks.

Wedding planners and stylists

Couples are hiring wedding planners and stylists to ensure their weddings come together cohesively. We offer our own Wedding Concierge Service here at Feature Weddings, we will handle everything for you and ensure it looks amazing and in line with your dream vision!!! Click here to find out more.

Digital Guest Books

Say bye to traditional guest books and hi to a new digital format. This means guests can add their own photos, videos and messages to an online site, which will then live on as a digital guest book that you can look back on for years to come.

Documentary and Behind-The-Scenes Photography

Documentary and behind-the-scenes photography and video is a popular option. This allows for more natural authentic moments, rather than posed pictures. Just think of Aunty Karen doing the limbo under Nana’s walking stick!

Small Bridal Parties

As guest counts become smaller and more intimate, so do bridal parties. This allows for more quality time with your bridal party, a smaller budget and ease throughout the day, from getting ready together to group photos.

Bold and tonal palettes

Bold and warm colours are very popular, as are tonal palettes. Think bridesmaid dresses in various shades of green or different pink floral-patterned dresses.

Have fun with colour and be as creative as you like!

Champagne towers

Champagne towers are P-O-P-U-L-A-R. They are a fun photo moment with your partner and a bit fancy too.

Dining with family and friends

Couples are choosing to say no to a separate sweetheart table and instead be seated with friends and family. We are all for this option, spending time with your guests is so important so why not soak up the time during dinner too.

Dessert Stations

Couples are having dessert stations served later in the evening along with wedding cake provided to guests in to-go packages, preventing waste and ensuring guests can snack late at night when that alcohol begins to hit!

Couples are being more mindful of sustainability, ditching single-use plastics, party favours that will just be thrown out and the like. Think of eco-friendly options that you aren’t going to feel guilty about later!

Scrap the trends and do you!

At the end of the day your wedding day is all about you as a couple. Scrap the trends and do what is right for you as a couple. Your happiness is all that matters.
